CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

We'll teach you Comedy for fun or Comedy for a living!

Whether you're an actor, business professional, bored teenager or someone looking for a new hobby, House of Valdar Classes & Workshops are for you!

House of Valdar offers various creative education programs.  You can enroll in individual terms or complete a certified program of multiple terms, which concludes with a final graduation performance.  Workshops will be added throughout each term to focus on particular creative specialties (song, dance, improvisation, props, costumes, scene writing, scene directing, theatre lighting, theatre sound, film work, voice-over work, etc.).  

Classes & Workshops are available for middle schoolers, high schoolers and adults.  Special C&W's are also available for individuals and/or small ensembles (please inquire for details).  Upon completion of upper-level creative classes, those individuals interested in professional performances at House of Valdar, may audition for our Creative Conservatory C&W's.  Auditions will be held annually or at the discretion of House of Valdar creative direction.

A little history on the creative director of House of Valdar...

Donald Shadian is a Green Bay native and graduate of Preble High School.  He studied comedy writing, acting and improvisation in Chicago at The Second City, Players Workshop of The Second City and ComedySportz.  He had the distinct honor of taking a Master Improv Class at The Second City with the late Martin de Maat.  Shadian later went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay.  With a very diverse personal and professional background in the Green Bay community, he is looking forward to entertaining his hometown along with bringing opportunities to the local arts community and youth.  Shadian has been extensively involved with many local businesses and organizations including: Shady Dive Entertainment - Co-founder (Performed at Robert Lee Brault Playhouse, Meyer Theatre and Weidner Center for the Performing Arts), HoV IMPRoV CoMEDY, Greater Green Bay YMCA, St. Thomas More Football, East Side Optimist - Bulldog Football, UWGB Theatre First Nighters, UWGB Danceworks Productions, Green Bay Babe Ruth Baseball, Green Bay Billy's Semi-Professional Baseball, Milwaukee Bombers Australian Football, Green Bay Bombers Professional Indoor Football (Pioneered the way for Green Bay Blizzard - AF2), Bay Beach Amusement Park, Green Bay News-Chronicle - Sports Reporter, Lamers Bus & Limousine, Green Bay Area Public Schools, Bellin Health - Carparkologist, Preble High School Baseball, Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center, Badger Boys State, Wisconsin Teen Leadership Program, etc.
